The Most Important Part of Baseball Season...

is dressing the part. For some fans it seems as if all fashion rules go out the window when it comes to attending sporting events. A lot of the team branded clothing options for women are, for lack of better words, not so cute. But there are ways to express your personal style while still showing your love for your team. My two favorite ways to show your spirit while not giving up on your style are: 1. Add a team branded accessory or a team colored accessory, or two, like (in the case of the giants) an orange scarf, or orange bag, or even cuff or bracelet. 2. One word: vintage. I scour the vintage stores in SF for great old Giants & 49ers t-shirts and these have become my staple all season. Usually I will pair a t with one of my cashmere sweaters or a leather jacket, some staple black jeans, and flats or low boots, and I always feel like I'm staying true to who I am, but still expressing my love for my team in a chic way. What's your favorite game day outfit?

Dress for the job you want...

not the job you have. I'm such a believer in this good old quote. When you look your best you feel your best. In today's working world there is A LOT of room for creativity and creative interpretations of dress codes at the office. And, in many offices a dress code no longer exists. So we have to apply our own codes. As for me, of course I love a great pair of jeans, but no matter the official code where I work, I have always felt that I present my best self, do my best work, accomplish the most, communicate better and feel the best when I look my best. One of my favorite looks this year is above. Mixing grays with blush pinks and neutrals is professional and strong, but transitions perfectly to a softer spring. Add a man's watch and a vintage briefcase for chic touches that add personal style.

Kudos once again to Theory for excellence in professional style (for both men and women), and constantly moving with trends, yet remaining classic. What designers do you to turn for a new suit? A new dress for the board meeting? Or your favorite polished look?

Blushing Beauties

Blushing Beauties
Blushing Beauties by Stephielynne featuring a silk blazer

Went shopping today at lunch and felt compelled to put together a set dedicated to blush. There are some really gorgeous pieces available in this subtle color right now. Some of my favorite's are included here. Just mixing with a little nude/cream = perfection.

From Winter to Spring...

From Winter to Spring...
From Winter to Spring... by Stephielynne featuring a racerback tank

I love Spring. Green grass, flowers blooming, my birthday:) But sometimes the transition from Winter to Spring is kind of tough as far as fashion goes. I like to slowly make my way into more color and mix and match more wintry, heavier pieces with lighter warmer weather textures. Some of my favorite transition pieces are Proenza Schouler's long sleeve tees (always a good idea) and Acne's season-less basics. And a favorite color story, for these months especially, is black + white + a pop of either red or coral (or a mix of both). Throw in a little nautical navy (navy and black are so chic together) with a blazer and/or bag and it's a perfect entrée to Spring. Looking forward to those lilacs, aren't you? xoxo

Nicholas Kool

I am in love with this collection. The 90s aesthetic mixed with the luxurious yet relaxed textures truly make it a dream come true. With so many pieces to choose from it's so difficult to create just one ultimate look. Here, I created two looks that revolve around one piece from the same fabric - the impeccable tartan. When you wear these model off duty clothes you feel like the coolest girl in the world - and you are.

Grocery List - Feb '11
Grocery List - Feb '11 by Stephielynne featuring long sleeve tops

Generally, I like to keep a running list of every item I am coveting throughout the year. However, sometimes it feels good to start over and make a new 'grocery' list. Everything i want, need, and have to have as of today is here (Thanks Polyvore). And yes, as I always say, a girl can dream. What's on your grocery list this month?

Fashion Week - My Favorite Things (so far)

Fashion week is surreal. It's like an alternative universe and it's so easy to get lost in all of the beauty. My favorite things so far about NYFW: Tommy Ton photoblogging (i'm obsessed with him already and these shots are amazing), IFB Evolving Influence (watched live feed and was thoroughly impressed with the eloquence and intelligence of the bloggers whom i already love), Jenni Kayne's 90s throwback. What are your favorites so far?

Happy Celine Day

Happy Celine Day by Stephielynne featuring linen dresses

Celine just makes me happy. Sometimes I just want to wake up, get dressed up in Celine, and go stand in front of Tiffany in Union Square and eat a cupcake (in theory). Doesn't everyone?

I am spending way too long online shopping and I felt the need to share today's favorites. I'm obsessing over the Proenza Baja look. I don't know if it's because it reminds me of my years attempting to replicate 90210 style and literally transform myself into Kelly Taylor or perhaps just because it's amazing... but regardless, I feel like the tweed shorts are calling my name. Et vous?

I am actually reading books again

Basically in the last year or two or so I've managed to confine book-reading solely to extended vacations. Bad idea. I really miss books and that feeling of knowing my book is waiting for me. I don't like e-books either. They just don't cut if for me. I need to actual turn pages, sleep with my books, take them everywhere, sometimes doodle in them and pass them on to friends in need of a good book reading. It feels like a good old fashioned thing to do - kind of like actual letters in the mail. I'm currently reading The Beautiful Fall by Alicia Drake and it is so inspiring and interesting. If you have any interest in Fashion, it's a must read.

New Year

A belated Happy New Year. Just wanting simple things this year: health, Proenza's SS '11 Collection, happiness, Susan Miller to be right at least once, no more parking tickets, no more cell phone tickets, happy work, happy weekends, more to come...
