In 2011 i'm hoping for Balance.
Work, family, life, love so many things and so little time. True Balance seems to be the key for being able to enjoy life to its fullest. I'm hoping just to get even a little bit closer to it in the coming year.
Carine's editions of Vogue always inspire me. I drool over the pages and force myself to read the articles even though it takes me way too long. Reading every issue not only enhances my arsenal of inspiration and knowledge, but challenges my waning French. I think if I could live anywhere, it would probably be a tie between Carine's closet and the editorial closets of Paris Vogue. November 2010 is no exception for inspiration. What inspires you?
Sometimes I wish I lived in London purely so I could shop at Browns in the flesh. The online store has an amazing selection that is seriously hard to match. These are just a few things I am currently coveting at the top of my Browns wish list. What's on your wish list?
I'm partial to the belief that what you are wearing underneath your clothes is just as important. Sexy and chic, yet comfortable, applies to underthings and outer-things. Personally I am in love with La Perla. Yes it is ultra-expensive, but it lasts a long time if you take care of it. My favorite right now is the classic soft cup bra pictured here. It's also priced slightly lower than their lacy pieces and is SO comfortable. I'm also more of a boy-short/brief girl and these are perfect. They come in both nude and black and I suggest investing in both colors (in multiples if your budget allows)!
My heart goes out to Betty Draper. I wish I could be the Mad Men stylist just even for a day. Or even just play in their costume department. I feel like if it were 2010 all Betty would need is Marc Collection, a classic pink lip, a nude nail and a sheer cheek. Simple and sexy. Marc + Betty Forever.
From Jackie to Chubby Checker and The Twist, the style icons are endless. Mad Men has revived the 1960s. But my mom and I were way ahead of the pack. When I was 9 we were in a mall Twist contest. Yes, a mall. In Michigan. My mother dragged me into the middle of the mall in a matching outfit to dance The Twist with her. We won two huge SONY CD player soundsystems before we even had a CD. More importantly we were wearing matching lovely magenta culottes and magenta and white stripe polo shirts. You could say we were having a moment. Anyway, this fall Prada and Louis Vuitton allowed us to indulge in the 60s. Love.

Acne (Ambition to Create Novel Expressions) is the best for contemporary. Why is everything from Sweden just like better? My favorite jeans in the whole world. Actually these days I literally only wear ACNE jeans.
